What's happening
N-acetylcysteine supplies the cysteine needed to synthesize glutathione, the body's primary intracellular antioxidant. Oral glutathione has poor bioavailability, so raising glutathione via NAC is usually more effective.
Recommendation
600-1200mg NAC daily is typically more effective than oral glutathione for raising cellular glutathione levels.
