Ingredients

  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp salt

Method

  1. 1Stir the yeast and honey into the warm milk and let it foam for 5 minutes.
  2. 2Mix in the egg, melted butter, salt and flour to form a soft dough.
  3. 3Knead 8 minutes, then cover and let rise 1 hour until doubled.
  4. 4Shape into 12 balls, place in a baking dish, and rise 30 minutes.
  5. 5Bake at 375°F for 18–20 minutes, until golden.
