Ingredients
- 4 cups flour
- 1 1/4 cups cold milk
- 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 1/4 cups cold butter (for laminating)
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Method
- 1Mix flour, milk, yeast, sugar and salt into a dough; chill 1 hour.
- 2Pound the cold butter into a flat square.
- 3Encase the butter in the rolled dough and fold in thirds.
- 4Roll and fold twice more, chilling 30 minutes between folds.
- 5Roll thin, cut triangles, and roll each into a crescent.
- 6Proof 2 hours until puffy, brush with egg wash.
- 7Bake at 400°F for 18–20 minutes until deep golden.
