Make it yours, start small
You now have the whole picture: an easy aerobic base, a weekly hard effort for VO₂ max, strength to keep your muscle and bone, and a little stability work to stay injury-free — all wrapped in enough recovery to adapt. The last step is making it yours and small enough to start this week.
Your starter training plan
- Pick 2–3 fixed strength days and put them on the calendar.
- Add 1 weekly interval session for VO₂ max.
- Build a daily-walk habit toward 150+ Zone 2 minutes.
- Protect sleep and protein so you actually recover.
- Track it and add a little each week — progressive overload.
- Choose the smallest version you can keep for a month, then grow it.
Log your training and supporting habits and watch your consistency build over time.
What's the smartest way to start a new training plan?
- Do the hardest possible program from day one
- Pick the smallest version you can keep consistently, then build
- Wait until you have two free hours a day
- Only train when you feel motivated

B.Pick the smallest version you can keep consistently, then build
Start with a sustainable minimum, anchor it to your routine, and add gradually. Consistency over months — not intensity in week one — is what builds lasting fitness.
